Hey everyone Im having a bit of trouble using Nero for burning CD's. Everytime I start the burning process, it will get say about 45% done and then it will stop dead. Usually you can hear the actual drive itself whilst the CD is burning, then it will just stop and go quiet. Its really annoying because I am wasting countless CD's on it. How To Erase Dell Inspiron Hard-drive Password
I have a Dell Inspiron 600m and whenever I boot it up, I get the white error screen telling me I have a locked hard-drive password. I never set up a password though, does anybody know what password I could use to unlock the hard-drive? The error message says "hard-disk #***********-595B is protected by a password authentication system." Help, My Laptop Charger Is Not Working Properly
I have a HP Pavilion laptop. I bought it about 2-3 years ago. I try to plug in the charger end to my laptop and it does not start charging. I can take the back off of it, plug the charger in, and it works fine. I think that something is pushing back (in the laptop) and causing the connections not to touch. My cousin's computer seems to have a bad VGA monitor cable. The problem is that when I turn it on, it seems to be ok, it says auto-configure....then it goes blank (orange light on monitor power button). I looked at the VGA connector pins and see that pins 4 and 11 are missing. Just to be curious, I looked at the end connected to the LCD and it's also missing pins 4 and 11. Is this a coincidence? Microphone Input Port Is Causing Static
I use my computer to record music stuff. A big problem with my production qulaity is that there is a slight buzzing with the mic input. I have narrowed it down to being the input on the computer. I use a AUDIX OM 2 mic and I have to use a 1/8 inch adaptor to connect the mic wire to the computer. Just bought a new ati radeon x700 pro and was wondering if I should run dual monitors on it. I have not been able to get my sound to work recently after installing XP, again! the volume icon is there, but the slider is disabled and i cannot click/unclick the mute. when i open the volume control i only have wave, synth and cd. nothing else,the computer reports that everything is fine! i have had the speakers working before in Win XPthanks-jimmy

Extremely Slow Hdd Operations On Windows Xp
On the first of this month I benchmarked my system running on Win XP using FreshDiagnose. The Hard Disk Benchmark showed 32 MB/s Write Speed & 40 MB/s Read Speed for my first Hard Drive & 35 MB/s by 51 MB/s for the second. Since yesterday all the operations on the first HDD (360 GB) have become extremely slow. A ~700 MB file copy operation on the same drive which used to take less than a minute, now requires 7-10 minutes. I tried re-fitting the SATA & power cables for the drives but
Is anyone here into overclocking their computers? It's pretty cool stuff. I have a p2.4c that I overclocked to 3.1ghz and it runs great. There's a noticible difference in speed. I get about 25idle/40load temps on stock intel cooling, which isn't bad at all. I'm gonna get one of those Zalman heatsinks one of these days and try to push my P4 a little more. I'd also like to overclock my 9800pro and see what it can do. Has anyone else tried overclocking?
What's Happening To Floppy Discs?
The use of floppy discs seems to be declining every day. Macintosh computers are no longer even made with floffy drives and windows computers will most likely follow suit sooner or later. Files are much bigger these days than they were back when floppy discs were first invented and so nothing but very basic things (text, spreadsheets, etc.) can even fit onto a floppy. Also, the fact that it is amazingly simple to burn files to a disc (most computers these days come with CD burning capabilities)

Hi,i've got a dell dimension 3000 computer. I wanted to upgrade the motherboard so it could fit a PCI-e graphics card. Unfortunatly, i found that the dimension 3000 doesn't take well to be fitted with another motherboard. Im running with a Geforce FX 5200 128MB graphics card, and wonder if i shouldn't just upgrade the CPU from a celeron D 2.53 Ghz to a Pentium 4 3.2Ghz HT. Is the Geforce FX not good enough for gaming, or will it be ok and i can then just upgrade my cpu?
